此前，王纯还指出工作量证明（PoW）机制是比特币的“宪法”，应尊重挖矿机制及矿工在比特币网络治理中的核心作用，若没有矿工支持，隔离见证（SegWit）难以激活，闪电网络也难以实现，矿工是维护比特币网络安全与稳定的重要力量，曾在多次争议事件中发挥关键作用，包括围绕 Bitmain 的算力博弈、Roger Ver 相关分叉立场、Craig Wright 引发的中本聪身份争议，以及被部分社区视为闹剧的 BIP-110 提案等。
