Odaily星球日报讯 美国司法部宣布，加密交易平台 Paxful Holdings Inc. 因未建立有效反洗钱控制措施，被判支付 400 万美元罚款。检方指控，该平台长期允许与诈骗、卖淫及人口贩运相关的非法资金通过平台流转，并从中获利。
司法部表示，Paxful 明知部分客户资金来源涉及犯罪活动，仍继续提供服务，并以反洗钱监管宽松作为吸引用户的卖点。调查还指出，平台曾为包括 Backpage 在内的网站处理加密交易，该网站被认为被用于发布卖淫相关广告，其中涉及未成年人。
数据显示，2015 年至 2022 年期间，约 1,700 万美元 等值比特币通过 Paxful 钱包转入相关网站，平台从中至少获得 270 万美元利润。司法部称，Paxful 创始人甚至将由此带来的业务增长称为“Backpage 效应”。
