[OpenAI plans to expand the “Stargate” AI project beyond the United States] OpenAI plans to expand its $500 billion U.S. data center project “Stargate” by increasing overseas investment, although the group has not disclosed details on the financing and implementation of the project. Chris Lehaney, Vice President of Global Affairs at OpenAI, stated: “This investment will exceed our expectations in the United States.” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman launched the “Star Gate” project at the White House this January, alongside former President Donald Trump, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, and Oracle chief Larry Ellison. Trump praised the plan to spend $500 billion on U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure during his term as a “declaration of confidence in America.” (Financial Times)
