We gained insights from the builders of Rollup, Validium, and Optimium to understand why they chose their tech stack and how they thought about interoperability, scalability, and more.
Avail recently hosted a panel discussion on a range of hot topics at Devconnect in Istanbul. A panel discussion on Rollup, Validium, and Optimium was moderated by Prabal Banerjee, co-founder of Avail, and featured by:
Mingshi, Head of Strategy, Astar
Zoe Li, Head of Strategy, Mantle
Victor Ji, co-founder of Manta Network
Jerome de Tychey, CEO of Cometh
Deli Gong, co-founder of Automata Network
How do you choose a tech stack?
Zoe Li, Head of Strategy at Mantle
Zoe highlighted the challenge of choosing the right technology stack, there is an ongoing debate about whether to use the OP Stack or zkEVM, as “this is the future”, but at the same time flexibility is important and technology based on the best user experience should be prioritized.
"We really want to be able to evolve with the industry, integrate and access the latest technology that we can use to achieve the best user experience. ”
Victor Ji, co-founder of Manta Network
Victor agrees that optimizing the tech stack is about providing a better user experience, "These fully on-chain games consume huge gas fees, which is exactly what users are complaining about. ”
Manta Network has a long-term roadmap and is committed to optimizing the technology stack to provide customers with a superior user experience, even if it means transforming the data availability layer or execution layer in the future.
How do you see the development of L2, L3?
Jerome de Tychey, CEO of Cometh
"Ideally, we’d go through the levels as if we were on the web. Jumping to a new website will be quick and easy for anyone. Oh, it’s an L 4 and that’s okay. I just take my single sign-on, which is my wallet, and I’m ready to interact right now. ”
What is the best way to trust minimized messaging?
Mingshi Song, Head of Strategy, Astar
Mingshi and the Astar team are committed to bringing real-world use cases on-chain. He emphasized the importance of non-crypto-native users being able to interact with these blockchain-based systems in a way that “doesn’t feel like the blockchain.”
What are the failure modes in your rollup, and how do you plan to address these challenges?
Deli Gong, co-founder of Automata Network
Deli Gong and the Automata Network team are in a multi-phase testing phase and are currently testing a single sequencer, but plan to move to multiple.
"In the future, we may also be connected to other data availability layers (DA layers). So there must be a lot of other stages. ”
