The “e-pet” craze caused by Frenpet has not yet subsided, and a new project has been launched – xPet.
From market analysis to celebrity speeches, you can always find more than one person posting the four letters “xPet” under various tweets. What do these people want, and how does xPet use fission-style propagation to exacerbate community Fomo?
Like Frenpet, the main logic of xPet still revolves around raising an electronic pet: feeding, upgrading, and earning benefits.
The difference is that xPet introduces the gameplay of opening treasure chests. xPet, a browser plug-in, is able to interact with Tweets by displaying a treasure chest logo next to them, which players can open by replying to a Tweet with the word “xPet” in it. When players open chests, they can get BPET tokens, food, shields, and other rewards.

The treasure chest opening mechanism uses fission-style propagation to increase player participation and exposure in the game. When a row of players replies to a tweet with the word “xPet” to open a chest, the name of the game xPet is also mentioned. This word-of-mouth approach has led to more users learning about xPet and being drawn into the game. The simple and easy-to-understand interaction method coupled with the habit of swiping and pushing made the comment area instantly occupied by the xPet army, and the screen was swiped everywhere he went.

The earning mechanism of xPet is mainly dependent on the pets owned by the player. When the player successfully upgrades their pet to level 7, the pet will be able to earn BPET rewards through Berry output. This mechanic encourages players to keep leveling up their pets in order to earn more lucrative benefits.
In addition, xPet offers other ways to increase earnings. Players can upgrade their lives to increase the speed at which Berry can be produced by devoting more resources. Inviting players to join the game will also earn additional Boosters to accelerate the growth of earnings.
If players wish to increase their earnings even further, they can purchase more pets in the store. Each pet has its own health, and when health is reduced, the player needs to use food to restore the pet’s health. At the same time, pets can also be injured or sick, at which point the player can use the needles opened in the treasure chest to heal. By maintaining the health of their pets, players can ensure that their pets’ ability to produce is not affected, so that they can obtain more stable income.

xPet’s token system includes two tokens, BPET and XPET.
BPET tokens can be earned in a variety of ways, including pet production, chest opening, and staking BPET. XPET tokens, on the other hand, need to be obtained by staking ETH. Players can borrow up to 90% of the value of XPET tokens corresponding to their collateral, and in order to get back the staked ETH, they need to pay back the XPET they borrowed earlier.

XPET tokens and BPET tokens are interchangeable, which makes it possible to cycle the Ponzi flywheel. Players can earn XPET by staking ETH. Then use XPET to upgrade the pet and increase the pet’s output capacity, which will be reflected in the form of BPET.
Next, players can choose to exchange the BPET tokens they have earned for XPET tokens, and finally return the XPET they borrowed before to get back the staked ETH.

xPet has taken a more radical and clever approach to spreading the word, spreading its project around through social media and letting more people know about it by commenting on it.
At the same time, the design of the dual-token model also makes the Ponzi flywheel possible, and the form of a browser plug-in is attached to facilitate more people to participate in it.
All kinds of mechanical ingenuity make xPet more potential than Frenpet. Will the improved version of “On-Chain Pets” go further? Let’s wait and see.
