The conflict in Aave governance is escalating as community coordinator Marc Zeller publicly criticizes Aave Labs ahead of an important vote called “Aave Will Win.” This proposal aims to allocate over $50 million in new funding to Aave Labs, making it the largest funding request in DAO history.
Marc Zeller, founder of the Aave Chan Initiative, released an “audit” questioning whether Aave Labs has generated value commensurate with the approximately $86 million in funding received previously. The report highlights a lack of transparency in operations, not disclosing the amount of AAVE tokens held, and potential influence on governance decisions. Additionally, many projects outside the core scope implemented by Labs are considered inefficient, while Aave’s success is attributed to external partners and contributions.
Market concerns have grown further as Ripple Labs withdrew $12 million RLUSD from the Horizon platform, amid reports that BGD Labs — the core development team — is about to leave.
