XRP Ledger Gets ZKP Identity Layer With DNA Protocol Launch

DNA Protocol has reached a major milestone on the XRP Ledger. The project has now deployed zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) identity features directly on XRPL. This marks a big step forward for privacy first digital identity on blockchain.

The update was confirmed by DNA Protocol and shared by RippleXity. The launch introduces a full identity settlement layer powered by the $XDNA token. It brings private identity verification, access control and on-ledger finality to the XRP Ledger. In simple terms, XRPL just got a powerful privacy engine.

What DNA Protocol Just Launched on XRPL

DNA Protocol announced that it has successfully executed five core functions on the XRP Ledger:

  • ZKP verification execution
  • On-ledger identity settlement
  • Proof validation access control
  • Protocol-level incentives
  • Privacy-preserving finality

DNA Protocol said: “DNA Protocol executes ZKP based identity verification and on-ledger settlement on the XRPL.” Consequently, this means users can now prove identity claims without revealing any personal or genetic data. Specifically, the system uses zero-knowledge cryptography to verify proofs so that it stores only cryptographic hashes on-chain. Furthermore, the real data stays off-chain and private; therefore, no DNA sequences, personal records, or sensitive data leaks occur. Instead, the process relies solely on math and proof.

How the System Works

Zero-knowledge proofs allow to prove something is true without showing the data itself. For example, a user can prove they passed a medical test or meet KYC rules without sharing their name or DNA. The system settles the identity state directly on the XRP Ledger once it verifies the proof. XRPL’s fast and final settlement makes the record tamper-proof. The $XDNA token powers the whole system. Users use the token to submit proofs and control access, while the protocol uses it to prevent spam and reward the validators and relayers who process identity checks. The network validates every proof, settles every update on-chain, and keeps every identity private.

Built for a Quantum Future

DNA Protocol is also built with quantum resistance in mind. The project uses post quantum cryptography based on NIST approved standards like Dilithium. Specifically, this protects identity credentials from future quantum computers that could break today’s encryption. Consequently, the team calls this “Quantum-Day ready” infrastructure. In other words, the identity system is built to survive the next 50 to 100 years of computing progress.

Why This Matters

This is not just about crypto identity. It opens the door to real-world use cases:

  • Private health passports
  • Biometric KYC for banks
  • Secure lab verification
  • Decentralized science
  • Genomic data ownership
  • Compliance without data exposure

Users stay in control of their identity. Institutions get strong verification. Privacy stays intact. That is the holy grail of digital identity.

A New Chapter for XRPL

For the XRP Ledger, this is a big upgrade in direction. In fact, XRPL is no longer just a payments network. Instead, it is now becoming a platform for identity, trust and privacy infrastructure. Consequently, with fast settlement, low fees and now ZKP identity, XRPL is moving into serious institutional territory.

DNA Protocol’s launch is still early stage. Naturally, adoption will take time. However, the technology is real. Furthermore, the use cases are powerful and the privacy model is built for the future. This is not hype; rather, this is infrastructure. XRPL just got a new layer, and it’s built for the next generation of the internet.
