The Guangzhou Internet Court released a research report on the judicial protection of virtual property in the internet.

gate News bot message, on April 23, the Guangzhou Internet Court held a “Press Conference on the Analysis of Civil Judicial Protection Paths for Online Virtual Property and Typical Cases”, releasing the “Research and Analysis Report on the Legal Nature of Online Virtual Property and the Path of Civil Judicial Protection”.

The report divides online virtual property into two categories: reality-mapping types (such as online stores) and network-constructed types (such as game items, NFTs, and cryptocurrencies). The report points out that constructed virtual property has both property rights and creditor rights characteristics; it is both the subject of the creditor relationship between operators and users, as well as the subject of the property relationship among users, but must comply with the relevant provisions of the user agreement.

The Guangzhou Internet Court mentioned in its report that as a type of virtual property related to internet infrastructure, the valuation of cryptocurrency is contentious, and relevant legal regulations need further improvement.
