The leading semiconductor foundry TSMC recently reported that a customer was suspected of violating the US chip export ban by acting as a front to re-export chips to the Chinese technology giant Huawei. TSMC has stopped supplying to this customer, and now the customer has been exposed as Sophgo, a chip design company under the Bitmain group, the parent company of CryptocurrencyMining in China. However, Sophgo has denied these allegations.
