According to an FBI announcement, John is the son of CMDSS CEO Dean Daghita. ZachXBT said the arrest was a direct result of an investigation conducted in late January 2026

It is worth noting that after being exposed, John Daghita has repeatedly provoked ZachXBT through his Telegram channel.

Authorities said the arrest highlights the increasing role of international cooperation in combating financial crimes involving digital assets

The operation involved coordination between U.S. investigators and French law enforcement units operating in the Caribbean region.

The FBI stated that it continues to work closely with global partners to track individuals attempting to exploit cryptocurrency systems for illicit activities

In his statement, Patel emphasized that law enforcement agencies remain committed to holding offenders accountable, regardless of where they attempt to hide.

The case has also drawn attention within the cryptocurrency community, as the theft involved funds connected to government-controlled wallets

Analysts say incidents like this underscore the need for stronger internal controls and cybersecurity protocols when managing large digital asset holdings.

While further legal proceedings are expected, investigators are continuing to examine the movement of the stolen funds and whether additional individuals may have been involved. Officials have not yet disclosed whether any of the missing cryptocurrency has been recovered.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to gather further evidence and pursue potential charges related to the alleged theft. However, no official confirmation yet mentions extradition proceedings.
