Nillion Secures $20 Million in Series A Funding on December 12, 2022
According to media reports, privacy computing network project Nillion secured $20 million in Series A funding on December 12, 2022. The round was led by prominent investment institutions including Distributed Global, GSR, HashKey Capital, Big Brain Holdings, Chapter One, Inception Capital, SALT Fund, and AU21 Capital. Following this round, Nillion’s cumulative financing reached $65 million, with its latest valuation at $400 million.Nillion is a computing network that integrates multiple privacy protection technologies, combining non-interactive multi-party computation (MPC), trusted execution environments (TEE), and decentralized secure storage as core components. The project utilizes data partitioning and encryption during the storage phase to safeguard data privacy while enabling parallel computation without communication, balancing robust privacy protection with high-performance processing. In terms of application scenarios, Nillion can be widely deployed in Web3 identity authentication, privacy finance, AI model training, and other fields to fully unlock the value potential of data. As demand for privacy computing continues to grow, Nillion’s technological approach offers innovative solutions to the challenges between data privacy and data utilization.Since its initial financing, Nillion has made significant progress. In June 2024, the project completed a community funding round raising $20 million and launched its testnet in the same month. In October 2024, Nillion received an additional $25 million in financing. By March 2025, the mainnet officially went live, with its token NIL subsequently listed and supported by major exchanges. In October, Nillion further expanded the application of its blind computation technology to general computing domains, advancing the boundaries of privacy computing technology.
