Top Level MPs Announce Their Cryptocurrency Investments: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and They Are Holding These Surprise Altcoins!

Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins have become an area of interest not only for retail investors but also for public officials in South Korea, where there is a high level of interest in cryptocurrencies.

It has emerged that some senior government officials also have investments in BTC and altcoin.

According to a report by South Korea’s local news agency Munhwa Ilbo, public officials have declared their assets.

Of the 2,047 South Korean government officials, 411 reported that they hold cryptocurrencies worth a total of 14.4 billion KRW, approximately 9.83 million dollars, which is 20.1%.

Among these, notable is Seoul City Council Member Kim Hye-young, who stated that she has 16 crypto investments, including Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and XRP.

Kim Hye-young topped the cryptocurrency investment list with a reported amount of 1.7 billion KRW ( approximately 1.16 million dollars ).

Seoul City Councilor Choi Min-gyu came in second with KRW 1.62 billion (yaklaşık dolar) 1 million in crypto. Mim-gyu has declared that it holds altcoins such as XRP and Artidium. In third place, with a crypto investment of KRW 1.43 billion, Busan-Ulsan Expressway CEO Kim Ki-hwan declared that he owns more than 150,000 Luna Classics (LUNC) and a number of other altcoins.

These investments indicate that government officials are increasingly inclined to invest in cryptocurrencies, while the involvement of public officials in crypto generates both interest and debate. The South Korean government aims to enhance transparency and accountability with its decision to mandate public officials to disclose their cryptocurrencies.
