One new confirmed case of monkeypox was reported in Hong Kong

On February 6, Golden Ten Data News, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Department of Health Protection Center stated that it is investigating a confirmed case of monkeypox. The case involves a 37-year-old male patient with a long-term illness. The patient began to develop vesicles on January 28 and sought medical treatment at the Male Social Hygiene Clinic of the Department of Health in Yau Ma Tei on February 4. His condition is stable and he will be isolated at the Princess Margaret Hospital. According to the patient’s information, he had high-risk contact in Hong Kong during the incubation period. Preliminary investigations indicate that the center has not found any epidemiological association between this case and other previously recorded cases of monkeypox in Hong Kong. The center is continuing to investigate the epidemiology of this case and will report to the World Health Organization.
