Can Harris inherit Biden's $95 million campaign fund?

Abstract generation in progress

On July 23, Jinshi Data reported that after Biden announced his withdrawal, the Federal Election Commission officially changed the name of Biden’s presidential campaign account to “Harris’s presidential campaign account.” According to the Biden campaign team’s report, the account had 95 million dollars as of the end of June. This is a substantial amount, but lower than the 128 million dollars reported by the Trump campaign team. Charlie Spies, a prominent Republican campaign finance lawyer, said that Republicans may challenge the transfer of control of funds to Harris, believing that Biden is the only legitimate candidate. Spies stated that there are legal issues with directly transferring these funds to Harris, as they were raised in Biden’s name. Saurav Ghosh, a lawyer at the Campaign Legal Center of the non-partisan watchdog group, believes that the likelihood of anyone questioning the legitimacy of this move being successful is very low.
