Block长期依赖向商户收取2%至3%的刷卡手续费获利，这一费率支撑了收单机构与信用卡网络的商业体系。然而，稳定币支付提供接近实时结算与几美分级别成本结构，对传统银行卡通道形成直接替代压力。Citrini Research在报告《当摩擦降至零》中指出，随着AI购物助手能够自动比价并选择最优支付路径，交易决策将更多基于成本与速度，而非品牌偏好。
在机器主导的支付环境下，高费率模式难以维持。若商户能够通过稳定币通道显著降低成本，银行卡体系的利润分配机制势必受到挤压。此次裁员幅度接近40%，也被市场解读为对手续费下行预期的提前布局，而不仅是对疫情期间扩张过快的修正。
资本市场对此反应积极，Block股价盘后上涨超过23%，但与疫情时期高点相比仍低约80%。随着稳定币逐步获得监管认可、AI驱动支付决策加速普及，支付企业的收入结构与成本模型正面临一次实质性的压力测试。
