Kyung Ten Data, November 7th: The Office of the President of South Korea stated on the 7th that the timing of the release of the “Joint Fact Sheet” regarding the follow-up negotiations on Korea-U.S. tariffs and security indicates that Korea and the U.S. need to make some adjustments to security-related content, and coordination and communication are underway. Some speculate that the new topics discussed in the talks may involve South Korea building nuclear-powered submarines equipped with conventional weapons. When asked whether the Joint Fact Sheet would include content related to nuclear submarines, the senior official stated that the document will fully reflect the outcomes of the Korea-U.S. summit, including South Korea’s acquisition of rights related to spent fuel reprocessing, uranium enrichment, and the modernization of the Korea-U.S. alliance.
