Trump and Netanyahu once engaged in a "war of words", fiercely debating the Qatar actions.
On September 11, Jin10 reported that senior officials in the U.S. government stated that Trump had an intense phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Tuesday, expressing his deep disappointment over Israel's actions against Hamas representatives in Qatar. Trump told Netanyahu that the decision to strike at Hamas political leaders in Doha, the capital of Qatar, was unwise. Officials indicated that Trump was angry because he learned of this through the U.S. military rather than Israel, and the target of the strike was territory of another U.S. ally that is mediating to end the Gaza war. Netanyahu responded that he had a brief window of opportunity to launch airstrikes and seized it. A senior government official said that Trump is increasingly frustrated with Netanyahu because Netanyahu continues to take aggressive actions that conflict with Trump’s Middle East objectives without U.S. involvement.
