Jin10 Data reported on August 20, that on August 19 local time, the Higher Court of Bogotá, Colombia ordered the immediate release of former President Uribe from imprisonment. On August 1 local time, a court in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, made a first-instance judgment, ruling that former President Uribe was guilty of bribery and fraud, sentencing him to 12 years of house arrest. Uribe became the first former president in Colombian history to be convicted of a crime. According to the judgment read by presiding judge Sandra Eredia, in addition to the 12 years of house arrest, Uribe was also fined 3.4 billion pesos (approximately 830,000 USD) and was disqualified from holding public office for 100 months and 20 days.
