On May 12, Jin10 reported that high-level economic and trade talks between China and the United States were held from the 10th to the 11th in Switzerland, attracting significant attention from the international community. Through joint efforts, both sides engaged in candid, in-depth, and constructive communication in multiple areas, reaching a series of important consensuses and making substantial progress. Currently, the global economic recovery is hindered, and geopolitical conflicts are frequent, making the importance of maintaining communication channels between China and the United States self-evident. The fact that the world's two largest economies can sit back at the negotiating table sends a positive signal to the international community. The Swiss talks were held and made substantial progress, marking an important attempt by both sides to manage differences and seek consensus amid a complex international economic situation. Both sides agreed to establish a China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism. WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala praised the positive outcomes of the high-level economic and trade talks between China and the United States, viewing it as an important step forward.
