The US dollar index rose on April 30.

On May 1, the U.S. dollar index rose on April 30. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, rose 0.23% on the day to settle at 99.468 at the end of the session. At the end of trading in New York, the euro was worth $1.1348, down from $1.1382 in the previous session, and the pound was worth $1.3339, down from $1.3402 in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was worth 142.77 yen, up from 142.29 yen in the previous session, the U.S. dollar was worth 0.8229 Swiss francs, down from 0.8242 Swiss francs in the previous session, the U.S. dollar was 1.3785 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3846 Canadian dollars in the previous session, and the U.S. dollar was worth 9.6559 Swedish kronor, up from 9.6292 Swedish kronor in the previous session.
