Abstract generation in progress

Stablecoin activity on Ethereum has set a new record with transfer volumes exceeding $8 trillion in Q4, the highest quarterly figure ever recorded, according to data from Token Terminal. The chart shows a clear acceleration in the second half of 2025, with Q4 making a strong breakout compared to all previous periods.

Before 2025, stablecoin transfer volumes on Ethereum typically fluctuated around $1–3 trillion per quarter, only spiking cyclically with market trends. However, starting in 2025, this trend changed. By Q3, volumes surpassed previous peaks, and in Q4, they increased almost vertically.

This scale indicates that Ethereum is increasingly used as a global payment infrastructure for USD-denominated liquidity, serving both institutional capital flows and treasury management. The $8 trillion milestone reflects a structural shift, reinforcing Ethereum’s role as a core digital financial platform.
