30 new projects unveiled at IC: A list of the winning projects of the Supernova Hackathon

Recently, the inaugural Supernova Global Hackathon, initiated by the internet computer Dfinity, officially came to an end, which attracted nearly 4,000 developers and entrepreneurs, and 42 projects were shortlisted as finalists, covering areas including SocialFi, GameFi, metaverse, NFTs, DeFi, public goods, and open “blue sky” projects.

Launched in May 2021, Dfinity, an internet computer, is a brand new public blockchain network that can host mass-market, hyperscale Web3 applications and services that store and process data more efficiently and at a lower cost than other blockchains, and all data and computation is on-chain. This allows developers to create systems, dApps, and decentralized services that run entirely on the blockchain.

By hosting the Supernova Hackathon, it marks the explosive growth of the Dfinity ecosystem just one year after its launch and lays the foundation for the expansion that will shape the future of Web3.

Spinner Cash

“Facilitating private transactions between different blockchains, including the Bitcoin and Ethereum networks”

Spinner Cash builds a private distributed ledger where all transactions are 100% private, with neither the sender or receiver of the transaction nor the number of tokens being transferred.

Similar to the UTXO model, Spinner Cash’s ledger stores private notes, not account balances or user addresses. Only the owner of the note can prove their ownership. To spend a note (e.g., to send tokens to another account), the user must first prove that he is the owner of the entered note. Spinner Cash will verify this proof before approving the transaction.

However, the privacy transaction ICP Token is just the tip of the iceberg. When Dfinity successfully integrates the Bitcoin network and more blockchain networks, blockchain assets can all be traded privately through Spinner Cash.

Cubetopia

“When Blockchain Meets Minecraft and World of Warcraft”

Cubetopia is the first fully decentralized multiplayer RPG/sandbox game built on an internet computer, allowing players to not only explore the unknown within the game, but also allow players to build on their own island at will.

As Cubetopia’s vision goes: we want to create a game that is fun and engaging for players as a unique way to get more people into Web3. Our goal is to create a game that feels familiar and intuitive to as many players as possible. We want to inspire creativity and adventure in our players.

“When a Writer Meets an NFT”

Kontribute is a decentralized blogging platform that allows readers, writers, and Web3 enthusiasts to write and read stories on the platform, or sell and trade NFTs from their stories. To achieve this, the platform integrates creative writing features, converts story sections into NFTs, and ICP wallets – users can hold their NFTs and ICPs directly in Kontribute.

Kontribute provides a place for writers to share their stories with the community and provides them with a way to sell NFTs from their stories. And readers can directly support the writer and their creation by purchasing the writer’s NFT.

Conshax

“New monetization opportunities for podcasters”

Recently, the podcasting circle has become more popular is an open protocol called Podcasting 2.0, based on the RSS standard, podcasters and viewers can receive and pay bitcoin through the Lightning Network of Bitcoin, which includes the audience can use bitcoin to tip a small amount of money for their favorite podcasts. Viewers can use a wallet that supports the Bitcoin Lightning Network and then “unlock” the show with 100 satoshi (100,000,000 satoshi after 1 bitcoin split) or even stream 1 satoshi per minute to watch a 1-minute show.

By integrating the Podcasting 2.0 protocol and enabling Dfinity’s Web3-native on-chain hosting, the Conshax platform automatically allocates Lightning Network payments or ICP Token payments for Bitcoin based on the token split structure of the podcast episode’s episode. In the process, Conshax provides new monetization opportunities for podcasts and supports token-based community interactions.

Signals

“Make friends by sending signals”

"After moving to a new city, I found it difficult to connect with new people, which inspired me to start Signals. It occurred to me that every day I meet strangers who might share my interests and hobbies – we live in the same building, go to the same gym, and even go to the same cafes and restaurants. But it’s hard for us to connect with each other. ”

Signals provides an opportunity for local users to connect with each other: they think that users can all send “signal” messages in the map system, including parties, second-hand goods for sale, etc., and other users who see “signals” can interact through message boards.

In addition, Signals is built as a DAO, which means that it is co-governed by users, and any user who owns a token can see the current state of the system and make recommendations on the future of operations.

STKRS

“Dating Display Wall”

In the past few weeks, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin wrote a paper on the concept of Soul Bound Tokens, which inspired STKRS to be born with online trust at its core.

On the STKRS platform, each user is awarded a ‘Stkrs Showcase Wall’ upon registration, where they can list NFTs highlighting their professional experience, the community they are involved in, or fun activities they enjoy being a part of. Active users will be displayed on the platform’s homepage for more people to see.

CrowEats

“Decentralized version of Dianping”

CrowEats is a restaurant review app built on an internet computer that reimagines how we find, curate, manage, evaluate, and interact with local businesses more broadly on the internet. It leverages tokenization and community juries to create a moderation mechanism for malicious comments. On top of that, it provides users with a “food social platform” that runs entirely on the blockchain, unlocking new ways to manage and monetize content that are not possible in Web2.

Eimolad

“MMORPG NFT Game”

Eimolad is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game deployed on an internet computer that blends P2E and is based on NFTs.

Eimolad’s game worldview consists of humans, orcs, dwarves, elves, and many other mythical creatures. Each race has its own skill tree and race traits, while the character’s traits will depend on level and equipment. By fighting monsters or PK with other players, characters will receive the money and raw materials they need to craft equipment and upgrades. Players can form groups and alliances to increase efficiency, and the more they play, the faster their character’s power and skills will grow.

Characters’ weapons can also be freely bought and sold on the in-game marketplace using ICP Token and eGOLD.

Faefolk

“Survival game with infinite maps”

Faefolk is a pixel-art survival game that allows users to farm, craft, and build in a multiplayer, online, infinitely generated game world. There are no further details at the moment, the demo video shows that users can harvest trees and pick up stones, and these items are also in the form of NFTs.

Paws Arena

“NFT Pet Wars”

The developer released a collection of NFTs called ICKitties in September 2021, and now, these cat-shaped NFTs will be available for use in the upcoming Paws Arena game. In Paws Arena, users can use NFTs to engage in multiplayer PVP battles, earning rewards when they win matches.

GalacticWar

“The NFT version of Red Alert?”

GalacticWar is a strategy game with a gameplay similar to Red Alert, where players can create their own base and send soldiers to attack other bases for rewards.

All basic elements of the game are DIP20 tokens, which can be traded on the DEX.

dSquad

dSquad is an NFT identity system with openness. Anyone who joins dSquad can design their own NFT avatar and customize all the physical attributes of the avatar as their own identity in the community.

deBunker

deBunker is a VR immersive baseball game. Two players can play together and hit each other with baseballs, or one person can pick up the ball and load the pitching machine, and the other does some batting practice. There is currently no economic model.

The original purpose of Saga was to bring an enjoyable digital tarot (NFT) experience to existing tarot enthusiasts, and to do so in a way that incentivized users to contribute and participate.

IC Avatar Creator is a creation platform that allows users to freely build 3D virtual avatars of the metaverse, thanks to the fully on-chain hosting of internet computers, users are able to create their avatars as NFTs and trade them using DEXs.

Apocalypse NFO Prototype

Beyond NFTs, developer Apocalypse Studio has proposed the concept of NFOs (Non-Fungible Objects), which have all the intrinsic value of purchase, allowing users to truly secure their belongings: storing complex data in a structured way with the properties of objects that have actions and can be changed.

Based on NFO, Apocalypse Studio is working on an MMORPG game, Deadhaus Sonata.

ICTC

ICTC is a distributed transaction framework for DeFi applications that consists of a transaction manager ™, a task executor (TA), and a transaction compensator (TC).

Toniq Earn + Interesting NFT

Toniq Earn is a decentralized over-collateralized lending product powered by Interesting NFTs, a decentralized interest rate protocol.

How it works:

1. Alice needs more ICP Tokens to buy the new NFTs that will be launched soon, and wants to stake her BTC Flower (an NFT) to borrow up to 200 ICP, so she fills out a loan request and says she will pay 10% interest.
2. Bob likes the BTC Flower collection and wants to earn some interest as income, so he accepts Alice’s protocol contract, and his ICP is sent to Alice through the protocol.
3. At this point, depending on whether Alice repays the money in a timely manner, two things may happen:
4. If Alice repays the money (plus interest), which is 220 ICP, then she will get her BTC Flower back, Bob will get 220 ICP, and everyone will be happy.
5. If Alice is unable to repay her contract, or decides not to, then the BTC Flower NFT will be sent to Bob.

The beauty of an overcollateralized contract like this one is that it eliminates the risk of default. Bob knew that at the end of the contract, he would either get 220 ICP or a BTC Flower, either of which made Bob feel very good. In the same way as Alice’s choice, Alice knows that she now has access to additional liquidity, either to keep her NFTs if she pays them back with interest, or to keep the ICP she originally earned at the cost of losing her NFTs if she doesn’t.

Enoki DEX

In a nutshell, Enoki is a decentralized exchange that allows users to swap tokens, provide liquidity, trade with limit orders, and act as a market maker.

The user signs up for the DEX and is assigned a broker.

Users can submit limit orders to the broker, which are then executed by the exchange after a round of synchronization, and users can also lock assets into a liquidity pool that the broker can use to exchange at a price determined by the exchange’s limit order’s bid-ask curve. This way, users can also instantly exchange tokens with any broker without having to wait for any exchange to sync.

As an additional incentive for market makers, users who submit limit orders and post them to the order book receive a 0.03% rebate when orders are matched.

Portal Creator Marketplace

Portal Creator Marketplace is a video NFT trading platform for Portal, a decentralized live streaming platform. Streamers can make NFTs of wonderful moments during the live broadcast and host them on the marketplace, where users can buy, rent, and the income will be automatically transferred to the host’s wallet.

CrowdFund NFT

CrowdFund NFT is a decentralized crowdfunding platform that uses NFTs to provide crowdfunding services for project parties.

Projects launching on CrowdFund NFTs will need to commit to providing rewards in exchange for participating in the crowdfunding round. These rewards may be: airdrops, whitelists, or use-case-specific rewards (e.g., “in-game earnings” for a game item).

In each round of crowdfunding, participants are distributed a set of NFTs – NFTs as “tokens” to redeem rewards. Successful crowdfunding participants can also trade their NFTs.

There are also benefits for the project side. Every time an NFT is resold, a 2.5% fee will be paid to the project party. This provides long-term funding for the project owner, so there is money to continue to support the development of the project even after the crowdfunding ends.

Proof of Personhood

Proof of Personhood is an identity proof system powered by decentralized AI human detection. It allows:

• The user verifies that he or she is not a robot through a combination of random Q&A and continuous simple human actions, such as facial gestures and speaking numbers at the same time;

• dApps or Web 2.0 applications can participate in Proof of Personhood’s identity proof system by requiring users to authenticate via a QR code;

• Any sensitive information (user facial images or voice) does not leave the user’s device. The AI algorithms on the device and the algorithms running on smart contracts on internet computers execute together in a decentralized manner.

ICMaps

With ICMaps, users can create their own map servers, allowing them to integrate maps into Web3 Dapps, Web2 applications, and even desktop computers.

Internet Computer Footprint

Internet Computer Footprint has developed a method to calculate the total emissions of internet computers, then determine the carbon emissions of a specific project through cycles, and use VERRA carbon credits to offset the carbon emissions of a specific project.

Internet Computer Footprint can be seen as the first step in leveraging blockchain to help combat climate change.

Metamob

Metamob is a decentralized Web3 application for launching campaigns.

It allows any user to start mobilizing by creating four different types of campaigns: donate, vote, sign, and fundraise. Users who use Metamob can create activities to face real-world problems, such as climate change, war, or even solve specific problems at school or apartment.

Kinic is a decentralized content search engine built on internet computers where users can enter text, categories, or smart contract IDs to discover relevant content in the ecosystem.

CanDB

CanScale is an initiative to build a scalable, distributed infrastructure for computers on the Internet. CanScale’s first project, CanDB, is a non-relational, high-performance, and horizontally scalable multi-container database.

FoxIC

FoxIC is a crypto wallet built using the MetaMask Developer Edition that can be used on internet computers, making it easier for users who are familiar with MetaMask to interact on internet computers.

DeTi

DeTi is a decentralized time scheduling service that will send messages to a specified smart contract on a specific functional endpoint on a scheduled basis or at a user-specified time. Whatever the user’s schedule requires, they can be combined with DeTi.

Internet Computer Services

The Internet Computer Service (ICS) makes it easy to create and manage smart contracts and is also designed to provide services such as one-click deployment of dApps, the minting of NFTs, token generation for any new project, and the configuration of on-chain BTC and ETH wallets with a few simple clicks.
