Taiwan Lawmakers to Propose a Special Law to Regulate Crypto Firms
Taiwan lawmakers are planning to propose a special law for regulating crypto firms by the end of November to prevent regulatory arbitrage. The proposed law would require all crypto platforms operating in Taiwan to apply for a permit, and regulators would have the authority to impose penalties on operators who violate self-regulation rules. However, the special law is not expected to be enacted until after mid-2024.
