After disabling ChatGPT, Apple entered the market in a low-key manner, and released nearly 30 AI jobs in May

OpenAI recently launched an iPhone-friendly version of the ChatGPT app, however, iPhone maker Apple has been revealed to have disabled ChatGPT in its workplace.
According to an internal Apple memo, the company asked employees not to use artificial intelligence platforms at work. Apple is concerned that artificial intelligence like ChatGPT may collect confidential employee data.
In addition to ChatGPT, Apple also prohibits employees from using GitHub’s Copilot at work, which allows developers to automatically write code. Interestingly, both banned platforms are owned by Microsoft.
Banning ChatGPT is only one aspect, and Apple obviously has its own AI plans. According to Apple’s official website, Apple has opened a total of 87 artificial intelligence-related job recruitments, of which nearly one-third (28) of the jobs were newly added this month.
According to the report, Apple hopes to develop natural language artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence models and make them available across platforms or in multiple forms. Apple also said it would use the power of generative artificial intelligence to redefine the iPhone and iPad.
According to the recruitment information, most of the recruited AI talents will work in Cupertino, California, Apple’s US headquarters, and branches such as San Diego and Austin will also digest some talents. Job openings include senior engineer, research scientist and special project manager, among others.
Apple’s ambitions for artificial intelligence have already begun to appear. On Apple’s most recent earnings call, its spokesperson noted that Apple is thinking deeply about how it enters the AI space.
Apple CEO Cook has also expressed concerns about Apple’s progress in the field of artificial intelligence. He believes that AI is very interesting, but at the same time there are many defects that need to be solved urgently, so Apple must treat the application of AI carefully. However, he also said that Apple will provide more funds for the research and development of artificial intelligence products.
In addition, Apple will hold a special event about its virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR) products on June 5, at which time it may also provide more details about its artificial intelligence plans.
