Mars Finance News, April 11 — U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States will “soon” restore passage through the Strait of Hormuz, but also acknowledged that the related actions “will not be easy,” and did not disclose specific implementation plans. Trump said that other countries have expressed willingness to assist in ensuring the safety of navigation through the strait, but did not specify which parties would be involved. Previously, reports indicated that NATO has already discussed assisting in maintaining the security of this critical shipping route. As one of the world’s most important energy transportation corridors, the Strait of Hormuz accounts for about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments. Since Iran blockaded the strait, global energy supplies have been severely disrupted, causing significant fluctuations in oil prices and increasing market uncertainty. Although the U.S. and Iran have announced a temporary ceasefire, shipping through the strait remains largely halted, and the resumption depends on subsequent security arrangements and geopolitical developments.
