Trump: The crash of U.S. fighter jets will not affect negotiations with Iran
Mars Finance News. On April 4, according to NBC News, during a brief phone interview, U.S. President Trump said that the crash of U.S. fighter jets would not affect negotiations with Iran. Trump declined to discuss the specific details of the ongoing search-and-rescue efforts after the fighter jet crashed in Iran, but he expressed dissatisfaction with some reports about the military action, because it was clearly a tense and sensitive operation. When asked whether the events that occurred today would affect negotiations with Iran, Trump said they would not be affected. He said, “No, absolutely not. This is war—we are fighting.”
Earlier, on April 3, Iran’s military public relations department said that on that day, in the southern waters near the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s national integrated air defense network, through tracking and monitoring, successfully shot down a U.S. A-10 attack aircraft. Iran said the aircraft belonged to “an aggressive hostile force.” U.S. officials confirmed earlier that day that an A-10 “Warthog” attack jet crashed near the Strait of Hormuz and that the pilot aboard had been rescued.
