Before the age of 40, if a person has the ability for self-reflection, they are often more likely to succeed and achieve greatness. Because the earlier they learn to reflect, the more they can continuously correct themselves and accumulate experience. In reality, most people tend to only reflect after encountering setbacks, hitting walls, or messing things up, learning lessons from failure. A very accomplished entrepreneur once said: if a person only begins to truly reflect after turning 40, it’s often already a bit late; but if they can continue to reflect after 40, they are not doing too badly. Unfortunately, many people before 40 tend to be very proud, unwilling to accept criticism, quick to argue with others, and prone to dredging up old issues. This lack of reflection actually limits their growth.
