Mars Finance reports that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said he will personally get involved in research into Bitcoin’s quantum-resistance-related issues and that the industry needs to push for solutions as early as possible. Coinbase Chief Security Officer Philip Martin previously noted that, as quantum computing research progresses, the industry needs to accelerate its response to potential threats. He stated that post-quantum cryptography is already feasible but still in the early stages of development; if implemented hastily, it could introduce new security risks. At the same time, industry stakeholders still need to reach consensus on issues such as how to handle wallets whose migration has not yet been completed. Additionally, Coinbase has already begun related infrastructure upgrades and research, and has worked to coordinate with developers and the community to advance quantum-resistant solutions.
