Techub News reports that, according to The Wall Street Journal, asset management giant Franklin Templeton announced the acquisition of 250 Digital, an independent company spun off from venture capital firm CoinFund, aiming to further expand its investment footprint in the cryptocurrency sector. 250 Digital officially separated from CoinFund and began independent operations in January of this year, led jointly by former CoinFund executives Christopher Perkins and Seth Ginns. Its core business is to tailor crypto asset investment strategies for institutional investors. Since entering the crypto space in 2018, Franklin Templeton has built a professional digital asset team of over 50 members. This acquisition is seen as a milestone in the asset manager’s deepening Web3 strategy, leveraging 250 Digital’s native crypto expertise and institutional service experience to strengthen its competitive edge at the intersection of mainstream finance and digital assets.
