🇪🇺 EU Crypto Rules May Drive Firms Offshore

Malta is pushing back against EU plans to centralize crypto oversight under ESMA.
France, Italy & Austria want ESMA to directly supervise major crypto firms but Malta warns this would add bureaucracy and hurt competitiveness.
If the EU over-regulates, firms may relocate to:
→ US: Pro-crypto legislation building fast
→ UAE: Dubai's VARA framework
→ Asia: Hong Kong & Singapore
MiCA full enforcement hits July 1, 2026. Unlicensed firms must exit the EU.
