(MENAFN) Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday aimed at tightening regulations for mail-in ballots, citing what he described as widespread election fraud.

As stated by reports, Trump told reporters at the White House, “The cheating on mail-in voting is legendary. It’s horrible what’s going on, and it’s very clearly covered very, very clearly. So I think this will help a lot with elections,” calling the measure “foolproof.” He added, “We want to have honest voting in our country,” while reiterating support for voter ID requirements and proof of citizenship.
