U.S. CFTC partners with professional sports leagues to combat prediction market manipulation or ban the listing of illegal contracts

Mars Finance news: During an interview with ESPN, Mike Selig, chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), said that he will seriously carry out his regulatory responsibilities to crack down on manipulated prediction market contracts. He added that the regulator has already partnered with multiple professional sports leagues to combat prediction market manipulation, to ensure that the relevant mechanisms are designed appropriately. Mike Selig further said that when sports leagues raise concerns about manipulation risks for contracts proposed to be listed on prediction markets, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission will assess them carefully and may take measures to prevent noncompliant contracts from being listed.
