During peak daylight hours when photovoltaic arrays generate maximum electricity, surplus power that the grid cannot immediately consume is directed into the facility’s vanadium batteries for temporary storage. This stored energy is then discharged during evening hours and periods of high electricity demand, when solar generation ceases or diminishes significantly. By deploying vanadium energy storage technology, the associated solar power station achieves enhanced operational efficiency and grid contribution, with annual utilization rates projected to increase by more than 10%.

Clean Electricity Output Reaches New Heights

The environmental benefits translate into measurable climate impact. The integration of vanadium battery storage with the supported photovoltaic facility enables the generation of an additional 230 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually compared to scenarios without long-duration storage capability.
