Ripple Labs announced an extension of its cryptocurrency custody collaboration with Garanti BBVA, one of Turkey’s leading financial institutions.
According to the announcement, Garanti BBVA’s crypto asset affiliate, Garanti BBVA Kripto, will continue to leverage Ripple’s institutional-grade custody technology. The bank will maintain its secure transfer and custody services for major crypto assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP, serving its millions of retail customers.
Ripple’s Managing Director highlighted that this extension represents “a strong vote of confidence in the vision of a secure and regulated digital asset infrastructure,” underscoring Garanti BBVA’s trust in Ripple’s custody solutions.
Garanti BBVA first entered the cryptocurrency space in late 2024 through a pilot program with Ripple and IBM, which attracted approximately 14,000 early adopters during the pilot period.
