Energy, whether manifested as the power of thought or the energy of emotions, needs to be properly protected.

The saying "worrying causes chaos" suggests that a person can only care about so many things; beyond that, it leads to overload, which may manifest as a decline in judgment or irritability.

Slow down a bit, allow your energy to recover, and you will have a calmer mindset to handle things. Just like mountain climbing or other sustained activities, it's not about going faster from the start, but about maintaining a balanced distribution of stamina.

This practice of temporarily setting aside large and complex matters, and approaching problem-solving with a sense of actual experience, is called mindfulness.

Meditation doesn't necessarily require sitting still, nor does it require contemplating Buddhist scriptures or other mysterious things. True wisdom lies in the feelings of the human heart itself, in the subtlety of daily life. By letting go of the big from the small, one can handle heavy burdens with ease, like using a light touch to move a heavy object.
