AI has lifted developer productivity across the board—we're seeing improvements in the 2-3x range for most. But here's where it gets interesting: the truly exceptional developers are hitting a different stratosphere entirely. Those already operating at 10x efficiency are now pushing toward 100x capability through AI-assisted workflows.

This isn't just incremental. The gap between average AI-augmented development and peak AI-augmented development is widening dramatically. I'm tracking this shift in real time, and it's reshaping how we think about engineering talent in Web3 and beyond.

To be honest, this polarization trend is already very clear in Web3... Those already talented developers are taking off directly with AI, while ordinary people can only achieve 2-3 times improvement at most, the gap is really not a small one.

Those people at 100x are probably going to lose their jobs. We at 2-3x are the real middle class, haha.

That group of 100x is really a monster, using AI to take it to the next level. Ordinary developers see a 2-3x improvement, but they directly undergo a qualitative change.

Hmm... so ordinary developers are being gradually phased out, I understand this logic.

NGL, this gap is getting more and more outrageous, it feels like ordinary developers are falling further and further behind... Is 100x really true?
