Harris Takes the Helm With Extensive Financial Leadership Background
Richard Harris brings substantial executive experience to the interim position. Since joining Rank Group’s Board in May 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, he has established himself as a key operational figure within the organization. Prior to his tenure at Rank, Harris served as CFO at Foxtons Group Plc and held senior financial positions at both Laird Plc and Marks and Spencer Plc—experience that underscores his capability to navigate complex business environments.
O’Reilly’s Legacy and Continued Support
John O’Reilly, who assumed the CEO role in April 2018, will provide ongoing consultation to the company through the conclusion of the 2025/26 financial year. During his tenure, O’Reilly has been instrumental in strengthening Rank Group’s market position within the gaming and betting sector, accumulating decades of industry expertise that has shaped the company’s strategic direction.
Formal Search Underway for Permanent Leadership
The Board has initiated a comprehensive recruitment process to identify a permanent Chief Executive Officer. According to John Ott, Chair of Rank Group plc, O’Reilly’s operational acumen and deep knowledge of the gambling industry have positioned Rank favorably for continued growth. The leadership transition reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining stability while securing long-term executive continuity.
