Polygon CEO unveils new vision of "Open Money Stack," can it become the world's most important ecosystem?

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】Polygon Foundation CEO recently shared a rather ambitious concept — building an “Open Currency Stack.” The core of this vision is simple: bring all currencies onto the chain.

Does that sound a bit crazy? But think about what it really means. The internet has changed the way information flows, and now Polygon wants to do the same for money. Native digital currencies, eliminating middlemen, making transactions and settlements more direct and transparent.

If this goal can truly be achieved, how important will Polygon’s position be? It might be comparable to the stature of internet giants during the information age. This is not just a technical issue but a fundamental reconstruction of financial infrastructure. Of course, the road is still long, but this direction is worth paying attention to.

It's one thing to say, but haven't you heard enough about the "disrupting finance" vision in the crypto world? The key is whether we can live to see that day. It's easy to talk about, but actually moving global currencies onto the blockchain? How do we get past the regulatory hurdles? If Polygon really becomes the second internet giant, I would go all in right now... Too bad the probability seems a bit slim haha. There are indeed many intermediate steps, but why would financial institutions give up their interests to embrace the blockchain? That's thinking too simply. "The road is still long"—this phrase is basically a death sentence in the crypto circle. It feels more like a story about fundraising; when it really advances, all kinds of compromises will come. But to be fair, if it really succeeds, it would indeed be enough to change the world... But "if" is the most expensive word.

Here we go again with the big promises... Sounds nice, but where are the real implementations? The internet model took decades to develop into what it is today. Constantly shouting about decentralization, but isn't it still relying on big institutions for support... Is Polygon really that powerful? Uh... If it really succeeds, I’d also make a profit, but this sounds too uncertain. Eliminating middlemen? Laughable. Where do transaction fees come from? Layer 2 itself is just a new middleman. Dreams of making money without earning are just daydreams.

It's true that this "Open Money Stack" sounds really big, but it feels like just a slogan. We'll have to wait and see if it actually materializes. The idea is good, but the key is whether they can follow through— that's the real issue. Another story about "Changing Financial Infrastructure." I just want to see who can truly shake up the existing system. Is Polygon reliable? I still have some doubts about that. The world's most important ecosystem? Ha, first get your own stuff stable before talking. Eliminating middlemen really hits the point, but will governments and banks let them do that? Honestly, I don't really believe it. It's quite ambitious, just not sure when we'll see real results. Over the past few years, I've heard too many grand visions, and in the end, there's been no follow-up.

Speaking of this "Open Money Stack," it does sound impressive, but can it really be done? Or is it just another hype? Those who talk about infrastructure reconstruction so much, ICO projects ten years ago were also hyping the same thing... But Polygon seems to be taking it more seriously this time? Polygon wants to create an internet for finance, wow, the ambition is indeed big. Well, I'll just wait to be proven wrong. Eliminating middlemen? That would be a huge threat to the banking system... Can it pass regulatory scrutiny? It feels like another story of "idealism is grand, but reality is harsh"... But who says that's not true?

Uh... another "changing the world" vision, does that sound familiar? Moving all currencies onto the chain? Let's first improve the existing user experience, really. But on the other hand, if it can really be done... that would indeed be impressive.
