Agent technology is indeed impressive, but this script has been played out in the history of the internet long ago. Internet companies are always prone to a kind of illusion — thinking that the business world is just like the internet, with data everywhere, and as long as it's organized properly, it can be used.

The problem is, we've already gone through two cycles like this. In the era of data science, everyone thought that massive amounts of data would automatically turn into insights. And what happened? Most companies' data is still a mess, and organizational capabilities can't keep up. Later, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) was similar — it seemed capable of solving everything, but in the end, many processes weren't as standardized as they appeared.

Now, the Agent craze is repeating the same story — over-optimism coupled with cooling expectations. The technology itself isn't the issue; the key is that the actual situation in enterprises is often much more complex than imagined. Untidy data, unstandardized processes, unclear requirements... these old problems still persist in the Agent era.

That's so true. Are we about to start a new round of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" act again? Really, it's always the same. After boasting about data science and RPA, now it's Agent again, cycle play. Have the company's issues been improved? No, it's still chaotic. No matter how good the technology is, it can't save it.

Old tricks, data science, RPA, now Agent, a pattern that repeats. The key point remains the same — enterprise databases are much messier than you think.

It's another cycle of cutting leeks, Data Science and RPA have been fooled like this before, and now Agent is here again. --- Honestly, most companies' data is a complete mess. Who's to blame? --- Technology iterates every day, but the old problems of enterprises have never been solved. --- Isn't this the classic tragedy of internet thinking clashing with traditional enterprises? --- Remember, a few years ago RPA was also hyped up like this, but what happened? --- Cleaning up data is easy to say, but few actually do it. --- Agent is indeed impressive, but first, you need to understand your own company's affairs. --- Haha, history always repeats itself, just with different actors.

It's the same old trick again—data science, RPA, now Agent. Internet folks really live in their own fantasies. To be honest, the mess in the enterprise world can't be fixed by technology alone; you need to understand yourself first. Every time, they hype it up, only to find the processes a mess and the data all over the place. Whose fault is it? Forget it, another round of disappointment.

Is this set coming around again? We should have learned our lesson long ago. Really, it's always the same script, just rehashing it with a different concept. We've known for ten years that poor enterprise data management is a problem. Now you still think you can rely on an Agent to fix it? Dream on. Remember how data science was hyped up back then, and how RPA was promoted? Now it's all about this Agent thing, and the套路 is completely worn out. The key is still to clean up your own house first; don't expect any new technology to help you fill the gaps.

honestly if you run a basic time-series regression on tech hype cycles, the correlation coefficient is basically 1.0 at this point. agents are just following the same adoption curve we've seen since... forever lol

This time it's really the old routine of data science again, haha I saw through that wave of RPA clearly, and in the end, it still comes down to human effort to patch the loopholes Agent is just a new disguise; no matter how poorly the data is in a company, it's all useless Internet people always think that their ideas work in reality, but what’s the result... No doubt about it, the company's process standardization is indeed weak History always repeats itself, just with different participants It's another technology that was hyped five years ago, just with a different name for a comeback
