Blockchain fundamentally changes the way value circulates, but what many applications truly lack is not a distributed ledger, but the ability to guarantee content integrity.

Walrus does things a bit differently—it transforms large file storage, availability proofs, and access control policies into services that can be verified on-chain. This means that smart contracts can not only track "who owns this data" but also ensure that "the content has never been tampered with."

This capability is especially critical in several areas. AI training datasets need long-term auditability, virtual assets in blockchain games require proper rights confirmation, and DAO archives need tamper-proofing—these scenarios are not temporary needs but foundational infrastructure for the ecosystem.

The WAL token itself is not a speculative product but the coordinator of this system. Payment, staking, and penalty mechanisms are interconnected, driving real usage demand rather than hype.

Of course, there are risks. The speed of ecosystem integration, whether incentive designs are reasonable, and token price volatility—these are practical considerations. But essentially, these are engineering and governance issues that need to be addressed, not fundamental errors in the project's direction.

In the long run, infrastructure that can ensure "memory" is not tampered with is far more valuable to bet on than short-term marketing gimmicks.
