Let's break down how decentralized exchanges actually work. Unlike traditional platforms, DEXs enable you to trade cryptocurrency directly from your personal wallet without relying on intermediaries. Popular protocols handle this by matching buyers and sellers through onchain mechanisms—it's all transparent and trustless.

But there's a real challenge here: fragmentation. Most DEXs operate independently, each with their own liquidity pools and user bases. You might find better prices on one platform for an ETH pair, yet discover deeper liquidity elsewhere for a different token. This siloed structure means traders often need to hop between multiple protocols just to find optimal execution. It's inefficient, costly in gas fees, and frankly, it slows down the entire DeFi ecosystem's potential to compete with centralized alternatives that consolidate liquidity at scale.

Liquidity fragmentation is really the original sin of DEXs. What's the point of running around just to save a bit on gas fees, and you might not even save that much.

This fragmentation issue is really the Achilles' heel of DEXs; constantly jumping around, the gas fees are unbearable.

This liquidity fragmentation issue is really incredible. Paying protocol fee gas every day directly eats into profits. It's better to go decentralized.

The fragmentation issue of DEXs is indeed annoying, but that's also why aggregator businesses are so popular.

The fragmentation of DEXs is really annoying. Jumping around consumes too much gas fees, no wonder CEXs are still so popular.

This fragmentation of liquidity is really annoying. Jumping around every day and being drained by gas fees—where is the future of DEX?

DEX fragmentation is really incredible. I have to jump back and forth between several platforms each time, and the gas fees directly eat up my profits…
