Philanthropist and Kalos Labs CEO joins mobile gaming platform’s board, strengthening focus on competitive gaming innovation

Mobile gaming competition platform Skillz has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Shari Glazer, reinforcing its leadership team with deep experience across sports, technology, and digital finance sectors. As the second female director on the eight-member board, Glazer brings a multifaceted background that bridges competitive sports and blockchain innovation.

Glazer currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Kalos Labs, a digital assets and blockchain platform catering to global brands navigating the evolving digital economy. Beyond her corporate leadership, she founded US Digital Trust, which oversees diverse private investments throughout the digital assets landscape. Her portfolio extends into sports ownership through the Glazer family’s stewardship of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers—holders of the Super Bowl championship since 2021—and British football club Manchester United, acquired by the family in 2006.

Her philanthropic footprint runs equally deep. As co-founder of the Edward and Shari Glazer Charitable Trust and board member of institutions including MOCA and Stanford’s Hoover Institution, Glazer has demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation. The Shari and Ed Glazer Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, established in 2018, serves as an academic hub designed to blend experiential learning with entrepreneurial development.

Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz, emphasized the strategic value of this appointment: “Shari Glazer’s combined expertise in sports, technology, and philanthropy positions her uniquely to guide Skillz as we advance fair competition in mobile gaming and beyond. Her insights will be instrumental as we continue reshaping the competitive gaming landscape.”

Glazer expressed enthusiasm about joining the platform: “Skillz stands out as a category innovator in competitive mobile gaming. I’m excited to contribute to the company’s trajectory and support its vision of democratizing competitive gaming for players worldwide.”

Skillz operates as the primary mobile gaming tournament platform, enabling developers to embed social competition into their games through proprietary technology. The platform organizes billions of casual esports competitions monthly, distributing millions in prize pools to participants globally. The company has earned recognition from Fast Company, CNBC, Forbes, and Inc. Magazine for innovation and growth leadership.
