GCT Semiconductor, a chip manufacturer, announced a significant milestone — their 5G chipset samples have been delivered to key customers such as Airspan Networks and Orbic North America, entering the actual evaluation phase. According to the plan, more chip and module samples will continue to be shipped in the coming weeks, with initial supply to all major customers expected to be completed by the end of June.

This delivery includes both bare chips and modules, fully customized according to the specific needs of different customers. The current focus is to have these 5G solutions undergo customer evaluation and optimization, then determine subsequent mass production plans based on feedback.

Targeting the Mid-End Market and 5G Opportunities

GCT Semiconductor’s strategy is clear: first focus on mid-end applications to seize immediate opportunities in the 5G market. They plan to develop a module certified by Verizon, which will serve as a gateway into the North American carrier ecosystem. Meanwhile, they are also preparing plans to expand sample supply to more customers.
