New Members Bring Specialized Expertise

The ecosystem now welcomes Aligned Automation, Infosys, EPAM Systems, Wipro, KBC, Akselos, and Databricks, each contributing distinct capabilities to strengthen the initiative’s value proposition. These organizations are not simply joining as passive members—they are actively bringing technical expertise, implementation experience, and innovative tools to address the complex challenges facing energy operators worldwide.

Expanding Solution Categories

Previously, the Open AI Energy Initiative concentrated on five primary capability areas: system integration services, asset and system reliability, data integration, data science tools, and plant and facility optimization. The new member additions introduce a sixth dimension—modeling and simulation—which significantly broadens the technical arsenal available to energy organizations.

Within this expanded framework, Aligned Automation, Infosys, Wipro, and EPAM Systems function as system integrators, deploying customized OAI solutions and providing the human expertise required for successful implementation. Meanwhile, KBC and Akselos specialize in the newly introduced modeling and simulation category, with KBC delivering process simulation capabilities and Akselos providing advanced physics-based simulation technologies that directly enhance operational decision-making.

Databricks’ contribution addresses a critical infrastructure need by providing Delta Lake, an open-format data management solution that establishes a modern lakehouse architecture.
