Abstract generation in progress

In a strategic move set to transform advisory services for the private equity industry, Harris Williams and Sixpoint Partners are merging to create a powerhouse combining M&A expertise with comprehensive capital solutions. The combined firm will enhance service delivery across fundraising, M&A advisory, and primary fund placement—serving clients throughout their entire investment lifecycle.

The merger, expected to close this summer pending regulatory approval, positions Harris Williams to strengthen its three-decade-long partnership with the private equity community while integrating Sixpoint’s specialized capabilities in private capital advisory. Eric Zoller, Sixpoint’s founder, will lead the private capital advisory division for the combined entity.

What Changes for Clients?

Harris Williams maintains its leadership structure with co-CEOs Bob Baltimore and John Neuner at the helm. The merger creates a more comprehensive service model—allowing institutional investors and PE firms to access integrated advisory solutions without juggling multiple providers. Clients gain access to expanded expertise in fund placement, strategic advisory, and complex deal structuring across industries and geographies.

Why This Matters

According to leadership, the two firms share a deep cultural alignment and entrepreneurial DNA. John Neuner emphasized the strategic rationale: “Our collective expertise enables us to support clients from fundraising through exit—something neither firm could offer as comprehensively alone.”

The combined organization brings together Harris Williams’ M&A track record with Sixpoint’s specialized secondaries and co-investment placement experience. This positions the merged entity to compete more effectively in a market where private equity clients increasingly demand one-stop advisory solutions.

Integration and Scope

Sixpoint Partners currently operates globally with offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and London. The integration preserves the firm’s results-driven approach while expanding Harris Williams’ geographic footprint and service breadth. Both entities are subsidiaries of PNC Financial Services Group, streamlining the consolidation process.

The move reflects broader industry trends where boutique investment banks merge to build scale while maintaining specialized expertise—a balance Harris Williams and Sixpoint clearly intend to achieve together.
