KKR, a prominent global investment firm, has brought Tim Lawler on board as an Executive Advisor to its Americas Health Care division. This strategic move underscores the firm’s commitment to building deeper connections with top-tier executives and creating a more sophisticated talent management framework for both its current portfolio companies and future investment targets.
Lawler will dedicate his efforts to establishing enduring partnerships with senior executives and developing institutional capabilities that position KKR as an elite partner for healthcare leaders. His appointment signals KKR’s recognition that identifying and retaining premium talent remains fundamental to value creation across portfolio companies.
Executive Talent at the Core of Healthcare Strategy
With over 20 years of experience in talent advisory and private equity human capital management, Lawler brings substantial expertise to the role. He recently served as a Partner at Waud Capital Partners, where he spearheaded human capital initiatives and executive engagement strategies for a growth-focused platform serving healthcare and software/technology services sectors. Prior to that, he led talent management operations as Managing Director at Highland Capital Management’s private equity unit. Lawler also founded and managed T4 Capital Talent, a boutique consulting firm specializing in human capital advisory and executive recruitment for alternative asset managers.
“Tim has spent his career helping portfolio companies unlock their potential through strategic talent acquisition and retention,” noted Max Lin, Co-Head of Americas Health Care at KKR. “We believe his proven expertise will be invaluable in strengthening our approach to becoming the preferred partner for exceptional healthcare executives.”
Ali Satvat, also Co-Head of Americas Health Care at KKR, added: “Talent identification and management are critical levers for success. Tim’s track record demonstrates his ability to support companies across their growth journey through world-class people strategies.”
KKR’s Healthcare Platform and Long-Term Commitment
KKR has cultivated a substantial healthcare investment presence, having deployed approximately $19 billion in equity capital across the sector over the past quarter-century. The firm’s healthcare team comprises 35 dedicated investment professionals who work collaboratively with portfolio companies to drive growth and catalyze systemic improvements—whether through advancing medical innovation, enhancing clinical outcomes and patient care quality, expanding care accessibility, or improving cost efficiency.
“I’m honored to partner with a firm that has consistently demonstrated excellence in healthcare investing and an authentic commitment to supporting the next generation of healthcare leaders,” Lawler said.
