Eight years ago, when I first entered the crypto world, I would stare at the candlestick charts all day long, and every price fluctuation would make my heart race.

At that time, I was no different from most beginners—afraid of missing out during a rally, worried about losing all my assets during corrections, and one unstable move could lead to chasing highs and selling lows.

Over the years, I have witnessed too many similar stories. Some people make huge profits during a single bullish wave, and their account growth is astonishing; others experience just one major correction, and their accounts are wiped out, with no chance to recover.

It was only later that I truly understood a principle: the most frightening thing in the crypto world is not the price fluctuations themselves, but how quickly the market can eliminate you.

Every market cycle is not short of people who "bet right" once. But what is truly rare is: during an upward cycle, still able to restrain oneself and not exhaust the growth potential all at once; during a downturn, remaining calm and protecting the principal from panic.

I have a friend whose gains in each bull market are astonishingly fast. When the market erupts, he is the loudest in the community, always claiming "there's still higher" with each surge. But the problem is, when the correction comes, he is reluctant to reduce his position, watching unrealized gains turn into unrealized losses, and eventually risking his principal.

In contrast, those who seem to have a "slower profit rhythm" tend to stick around until the end. They never operate with full positions, take profits in stages when gains reach a certain level, and always leave enough ammunition for re-entry. Their voice isn't loud, but they are always still in the game.

Really, my friend is exactly like that now. Brags a lot during the bull market, gets caught and stuck when the pullback comes, and still refuses to admit it.

To be honest, I've heard that friend's story too many times; someone gets cut like this in every round. It's mainly a mindset issue.

People who are fully invested all end up dead. This is not a joke; it's data. Risk management is not conservatism; it's a necessary condition for survival.

Really, I've seen too many people who made a fortune during a bull run, only to get trapped when the market turns, that's just how the crypto world is.
