Mars Finance News: Hong Kong Legislative Council Member Wu Jiezhuang posted on X platform stating, “I am pleased to see that the Hong Kong SAR government’s Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau has made new developments in promoting digital asset trading. The SAR government has announced that it will formally consult on legislative proposals regarding digital asset trading and custodial services, which further clarifies the regulatory activities related to digital assets and responds to market needs and ideas. In the past, the Hong Kong SAR government has consulted the industry on the direction of related over-the-counter trading and custodial services and has received many opinions. This proposed legislation not only establishes the legitimacy of crypto and digital asset OTC trading and custodial services, allowing the industry to operate in a more compliant manner; it also helps combat suspected fraudulent activities disguised as related activities, helping citizens avoid losses. I encourage the industry to express more opinions within this month to improve Hong Kong’s Web3 development and policies.”
