Trump strongly advocates for Wosh as Federal Reserve Chair, market expectations shift dramatically

【Chain News】The personnel changes at the Federal Reserve are becoming a focal point in the recent financial market. According to the latest news, Trump expressed support for Kevin Woorh to serve as the next Federal Reserve Chair last Friday and listed him as the preferred candidate, although other candidates are still competing.

What is the logic behind this? Trump believes that the current interest rate levels are still too high. The Fed just completed a rate cut this Wednesday, adjusting the benchmark federal funds rate to a range of 3.5%-3.75%. However, Trump’s stance is very clear—he thinks it should be lowered further. His preference for Woorh is also straightforward: Woorh’s stance on monetary policy aligns closely with his own.

The market’s reaction has been quite敏感. According to data from the prediction platform Kalshi, there has been a noticeable change. Previously, the market estimated the probability of Haskett’s nomination at about 71%, now it has dropped to 62%. Meanwhile, Woorh’s probability has risen from a lower level to 36%. This shift in probabilities reflects investors’ new assessment of the Fed’s policy direction.

More notably, Trump has reiterated a disruptive view: he believes the Fed Chair should actively consult the President when setting interest rate policies. This breaks the long-standing tradition of the Fed’s independent decision-making. If this idea is implemented, it will have profound impacts on the global financial markets, including the cryptocurrency asset market.

Here we go again, Trump playing the game of financial manipulation, and the Federal Reserve still has to listen to the president? 🤨 If this independence is gone.

It's Trump causing trouble again. Is the Federal Reserve about to be turned into a conveyor belt?

Is the Federal Reserve really about to become a political tool? This is getting interesting.

ah, *checks notes* ...so we're just casually dismantling central bank independence now? statistically speaking, this is exactly how the political pressure on monetary policy started in the 1930s. history doesn't repeat, but goddamn does it rhyme.

Here comes another round of cutting the leeks. Is Trump trying to turn the Federal Reserve into his own ATM?
