Latest news: Stripe is set to officially open its stablecoin payment channel on December 12 this year.

Merchants will be able to directly receive USDC, with supported chains including Ethereum, Base, and Polygon. The fee structure is straightforward—1.5% transaction fee, with no additional fixed charges. Settlements will be directly converted to USD upon arrival.

Interestingly, Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, specifically commented on this. He expressed that he sincerely hopes Stripe can figure out how to optimize crypto payments using bips (basis points).

This marks another milestone of a traditional payment giant officially embracing on-chain settlement. The multi-chain support strategy is also quite pragmatic, as different use cases indeed require different chains.

1.5% fee is okay, but why isn't there Solana? Why didn't Anatoly just bring Stripe on board directly? --- Wait, settle directly in USD? That’s the real necessity, and finally a major player has figured it out. --- Multi-chain support is nice, but it still feels like just testing the waters. The real big move probably hasn't happened yet. --- Stripe's move was well played; traditional finance is starting to take on-chain settlements seriously. How long has it been since then? --- USDC is collected but still needs to be converted to USD. How is that handled on the user side? Do users still have to go through exchanges? --- December 12th, mark this day; it could be a pivotal point that changes the payment landscape. --- Does it seem like Anatoly is hinting that Stripe still doesn’t fully understand the logic of crypto payments? --- Both Base and Polygon have arrived, but Solana's absence is a bit interesting. Has the approach to riding the hype changed?

A 1.5% handling fee is really not expensive, but why isn't Solana included? When will we see that happen? --- Finally getting serious, traditional finance will be forced to embrace the on-chain world. --- The question is, will merchants actually use it, or will it become another tool for cutting leeks? --- Both Base and Polygon support it, but they didn't give Solana any face. That's interesting. --- Anatoly's words sound like he's urging Stripe not to mess up. The pressure is immense. --- The direct deposit to USD is pretty good; at least it saves the trouble of withdrawal. --- Another major institution is entering the scene. It feels like crypto payments are finally about to explode this year. --- A multi-chain strategy is the right move, but will Ethereum still end up eating the meat while others drink the soup? --- Wait, December 12th. How much longer is that from now? I'm a bit impatient. --- I think a 1.5% handling fee is acceptable, as long as it can actually be implemented.

A 1.5% fee is acceptable, but why haven't we seen Solana involved? Feeling bad for a second. --- Stripe really figured it out this time, traditional finance is finally willing to humble itself. --- Multi-chain support is great, just worried we'll still have to pay gas fees depending on Ethereum. --- December 12th? Marking it down, let's see if there's any opportunity to take advantage. --- Yakovenko is still trying to stay relevant, why isn't Solana on board yet? --- Direct USD settlement is a highlight, finally no more endless conversions. --- Is 1.5% really cheap, or is it just another seemingly affordable trick?

lol anatoly really had to call them out on the bips thing... stripe finally getting it but like, 1.5% is still pretty fat for stablecoins tbh. multi-chain support tho, empirically speaking, was inevitable — different chains, different vibes, as predicted.

A 1.5% handling fee isn’t exactly cheap; it still depends on whether it can actually be implemented and used. Wait, why isn’t Solana included? Anatoly’s comments seemed to hint at something. Finally, the big players are joining in—this time it looks serious. Are there many merchants on Base? Feels like that’s the real key. With this move from Stripe, traditional finance really is starting to panic, haha. Multi-chain support sounds good, but how good will the actual experience be... Seriously? Launching in December? Kind of excited but also a bit skeptical. Let’s wait until SOL is supported; the current setup isn’t appealing enough. The fees are still high—still benchmarking against traditional payments. On-chain settlement is finally going mainstream; feels like a major shift is coming.

A 1.5% handling fee is acceptable, but the real competition depends on whether there are any hidden fees later on. Stripe made a smart move here; now we just have to see when Solana can get on board. Multi-chain support is practical, and Base will probably see volume first.

1.5% handling fee is not low, and Solana isn't even included yet. Why do we still have to wait? --- Stripe is really here this time, but something feels missing... oh right, where's Solana? --- Base is already supported, and Solana's founder is just making snide remarks? Just add it already, stop with the games. --- Multichain is a good thing, but I'm just worried the user experience will still be a mess. --- We'll see in December anyway, I'm just going to wait and watch for now. --- Honestly, a 1.5% handling fee might still be a bit expensive for small merchants. --- Interesting, the traditional giants are finally taking on-chain settlement seriously. --- Why is Solana missing? Isn't that a shame? --- Direct USD transfers to the account—this detail is pretty important. --- Anatoly's comments were a bit harsh, haha.
